What does it mean if a plier is VDE certified?
If a tool is VDE certified, it means it has been tested and approved by VDE (Verband der Elektrontechnik) for safety & quality assurances and is globally recognized ensuring user confidence.
How do I know when to use a VDE plier versus a non-VDE plier?
If safety is a priority or you're working on electrical repairs, we'd recommend using VDE pliers sine they are insulated and protect against electric shocks. We do not recommend using them on live circuits and best practice is to disconnect any live current before use. Use non-VDE pliers for non-electrical tasks.
Why are VDE pliers yellow and red?
